For one of my first weekends in New York, I was delighted to be invited to BLTop‘s launching brunch event for their unique silk camisole. They created a functional and comfortable camisole inspired by the working woman. It was a fun Saturday morning, and I met a lot of inspiring and fashionable ladies at the event. My favorite part (the watermelon salad being a very close second!) was the fantastic DIY bouquet set-up by Branches in Bloom. Taking home this lovely bouquet of pastel flowers and leaves gave me a smile in the morning everyday for the rest of my week.
You can see the full breakdown of this event, as well as some of the other things I’ve been up to recently in my vlog.
Until next time!
new york
manhattan: pt 2
Walking through the Rockefeller center and financial district, with pink cheeks bitten by the cold. Hair and shoulders wrapped in a scarf- and each step taken with determination and purpose.
This was the New York in my younger mind, the New York I prayed for when I submitted my early decision application to NYU Stern three years ago. When I visited over Manhattan for the second time this summer, this rampant fancy of my past days became something more subtle yet more solid. I walked through the Columbia campus with my best friend from high school who had just transferred to the university; I was in her current reality, seeing myself in the corner of my eye, walking by with notebooks in hand and plaid skirt on hips. Movies at Times Square at midnight. Churches in the rain. Nights in the dorms and waking up to a beautiful view of Upper Manhattan just outside Neta’s window, and thus starting my day with an exuberant smile.

Manhattan Trip 1 / Summer 2017 / Last Journal Entry
“It is the end of my vacation to New York.
I am sitting at the Standard hotel grill with my father, in a maroon laise booth, maroon and pale yellow geometric floor patterns, remembering how I felt here only a few days ago.
I hate myself for being such a lost romantic in a hopelessly fast world. I want to preserve time and be here a little longer before my life starts moving again and picks me up with it’s frantic pace.
Have the utmost faith in yourself that you’re one of a kind and that you will not fail if you are consistently working hard. Every good thing has to come to a bittersweet end, so don’t be too affected, darling.”

“A New York minute is an instant. Or as Johnny Carson once said, it’s the interval between a Manhattan traffic light turning green and the guy behind you honking his horn. “
