This is the outfit I wore to do a small facilities photoshoot for the new Palo Alto city library, which has been under construction the past few years. Then later, when going out with the outfit again, I switched in some heels, grabbed an adorable pink scalloped bag, and threw on some pearl jewelry. Now, I must address a quick disclaimer: I am in no way an actual princess by birth, and am not claiming to be one despite the silly post title. However, I think it is every girl’s right to feel like a princess when wearing their favorite styles or pieces of clothing.

I have been feeling like I’m on cloud nine lately because of the rebirth of a relationship! Happy because of love! And whenever I am happy, I default towards pink, my favorite color. I wore this color so much in the summer, and it became inseparable to many of my outfits. I decided to pair this adorable dress with a chic cardigan from Banana Republic. This cardigan is actually very geometric and has sharp lines-but pairing it with a cute dress brings out the softer features of the knit.
I threw on a knitted beret, grabbed a leather backpack, and zipped up my heels to take a stroll.

Shoes Enzo Angiolini / Shorts CHOIES / Cardigan Free People

Thanks to Choies, I’ve added a new piece to my ever growing closet! I just love the leopard print on these shorts, and have a handful of ideas for fall outfits that I can incorporate them into. These boots were certainly not made for tromping around in the baylands, but away I go! I played some wistful indie music in the car and saw a beautiful filtered view of the world through my sunglasses. The road was winding, but the sky was a steady and beautiful blue. I love to throw together fun and layered looks, like I did with this outfit. The high japanese-style bun has been one of my favorite hairstyles since the 8th grade. There’s a cute and playful vibe to a pouffy updo that I can never get enough of. It is a good hairstyle for the summertime, but I think a messy updo looks amazing with cold weather pieces like big scarves and cozy prints.

Dress Urban Outfitter/ Satchel Kate Spade / Rings F21

Here I am, enjoying the last glimpses of sun before the fall skies take over completely. I braided a tiny strand of my hair, threw on a maxidress, and grabbed my mint Kate Spade satchel. Seeing this dress is a total throwback to the Faneuil Hall Marketplace in Boston! Here is the story behind it. I was dressed up formally after touring a startup space during a Babson field trip. I didn’t know we were going to the Quincy Market afterwards, and didn’t bring my wallet with me. I only had about ten dollars in cash on me! I wasn’t sure how to spend the rest of the day wallet-less in a shopping area, but I knew I wanted to change my outfit, because I hated walking around in dress pants and a blazer. I went to an Urban Outfitters store and looked for a fun summery dress to spend the day in. I found this maxidress in my size, tried it on, and loved it! I bought it with an UO gift card that I happened to have in my bag, and changed into it immediately. Even though I spent most the day alone, (and a portion sitting in a cafe writing in my journal) I had a good time regardless. I think it was partly due to loving how this dress swished and sweeped as I walked through the streets.

Putting it on now instantly reminds me of that day in the Faneuil Hall Marketplace. I just love the pieces of clothing in my closet that have stories and fun memories behind them. It’s one of my favorite parts of wearing certain outfits. 🙂
