I just came back a few days ago from a lovely trip to Yosemite! It was very relaxing, fun, and a great way to kick off 2015! Here is a montage of images from the drive there, and the first full day. Luckily, Charlie captured some shots during our trip! Visit his photography site for more awesome photos.
The drive was beautiful. I love sunset and the silhouette of trees. There is something haunting and fluid about the image that strikes me. We arrived at the cabin, cooked dinner, played cards and Jenga, blasted music, and had a kicking time.
Okay, so the first full day technically begins here. I was reading more of A Prayer for Owen Meany throughout the trip. I knocked down a few hundred pages amongst all the daytime activities and night-time fun! This book is quite different from what I usually pick up, but I’m definitely enjoying it and am excited to finish it and see where the characters and plot ends up. John Irving is quite skilled at creating complex characters and interesting settings, I definitely become very engrossed in the story as soon as I pick up from where I last left off.
Here is Ally-derpina derping around the house while everyone else is being productive and helpful by packing the car and getting their things ready. Observe the wild Ally in her natural habitat as she flashes an exaggerated, annoying grin to the camera…
Charlie brought his camera and took awesome pictures throughout the trip. He is based in Los Angeles; check out his photography page for amazing photos! So from these couple of days, I learned that I am not the most outdoorsy person. At first I thought I would have a total blast hiking and finding zen within the beautiful nature scenes of Yosemite, but that was not exactly the case. I think I might have collected a multitude of bruises from walking into random branches and slabs of rock at times. It was okay. But going with awesome people makes everything a lot better right? 🙂
Here are some candid captures of me. I am such a weirdo sometimes in person, and I am very jumpy, hyper, and expressive sometimes too! Other times I run away from everyone else on the hike and lie down on a cold rock, listening to Nirvana and looking up at the foliage of evergreens.
Hope you guys enjoyed this series of silly/serious travel photos…part two to come soon! 🙂
