Beauty. Silver linings. Eternal Reassurance. Transcendence.
Beauty…the adjective form is what we all strive to be. Silver linings: those dainty trickles of light which peek over gray clouds, the movie that left you convinced you wouldn’t love any actress more than Jennifer Lawrence. Eternal reassurance, the phrase Nick Carraway uses to describe the quality of Gatsby’s smile, and what I use to describe the quality of a vast sky.
And the fourth. When I put on this beautiful Leila dress from Tobi, suddenly I become the foreground, the sky becomes the background. As I admire the way the sequins catch the light, one word slips from my mouth and catches a whisper- transcendent. This is what it means to be a Tobi girl. We make our own rules, we spin knowing our lovely skirts will follow suit, and we are beautiful. We find silver linings and we smile with reassurance.
