Hi lovely readers!
You’ve probably all heard some crazy stories about the street food in China. There’s a wide variety of different eats that you can find, and specific regions of Shanghai where you can find it all! Two good places to go are the Yuyuan Temple (beautiful historical Chinese temple with a ton of stores, restaurants, and cafes) and Wujiang Road.
I made a few collages of some of the foods I ate on my last trip. Here is a collage of salty street foods!
There are classic Shanghai eats here, like xiaolongbao, rice noodles, dimsum, and eggplant with eel. I also ate at a lot of great Japanese restaurants-best sushi and salmon ever! 🙂
And here is a collage of sweet snacks and desserts~
The picture above shows crepes, cakes, pudding, pearl milk tea, Mister Donut (Japanese donuts), and some other interesting desesrts.
Me and Colleen (one of my adorable best friends) took a night out to Wujiang Road. We traveled around 10 minutes by metro, and made sure to not eat earlier in the day to save our appetite for this food loaded region of Shanghai!
I wanted to briefly talk about an interesting hot pot restaurant Colleen and I ate at another night. It was in the Xujiahui district of Shanghai, and it was a small flower shop/hot pot restaurant on the fourth floor of a building. The decorations were absolutely lovely, and we had a blast taking pictures and enjoying our yummy hot pot! Afterwards, we went to a Hello Kitty themed karaoke room at Haoledi, a famous Chinese karaoke branch that usually has a floor in all the bigger malls.
It’s so much fun to find all these quirky places. Finding one will definitely add another perspective to your travels in Shanghai.
Hope all my foodie readers out there enjoyed this post and pictures!
