A few days ago I felt a sudden urge to watch some chinese martial art/wu xia dramas.
Usually when I’m in China, I tend to flop around on bed and watch these for the whole day…. =.=
ANYWAY
I watched Legend of the Condor heroes!!! (2008 version)
Here’s the summary from Dramawiki:
“When their husbands were killed by the Song army, two pregnant women found safe haven in foreign lands. Li Ping gave birth to Guo Jing, a sturdy but blockheaded young man who roamed the Mongolian prairie with the family of Temujin. Bao Xi Ruo gave birth to Yang Kang, a smart and crafty young man who became the son of Wanyan Hong Lie, a successor of the Jin empire. When a pact between their martial arts masters brought them together and the truth behind their fathers’ deaths was revealed, one found martial arts enlightenment and a cause greater than his own while the other descended into darkness and destroyed everything and everyone around him.”
Let me just say, it’s one of my favorite dramas EVER now. ♥
The two main reasons I love this drama are
1. The chemistry between Ariel Lin and Hu Ge is AMAZING.
never have I seen, or ever will see again, a couple so PERFECT.
I feel like Ariel plays the best Rong’er, she’s witty and extremely smart. You kind of just instantly fall in love with her character.
And how could you NOT love Hu Ge in this drama? He completely captures the naive but very moral Guo Jing.
After watching this drama, I realized again that true love is very deep.
Two people in love can fight through almost anything.
I watched Tian Wai Fei Xian after watching this, and Ariel and Hu Ge were also the main characters, also in love. Tian Wai Fei Xian ( The Little Fairy) was heartbreaking though.
I’m pretty depressed after having watched that.
2. The plot is very good, all the martial arts and characters are well developed.
There were many other characters, and they, by the end of the drama, became well developed. The focus was definitely not just on Rong’er and Guo Jings love.
I love many of the martial arts teachers/masters in this drama, and their different personalities.
It’s 50 episodes, but I finished in a day and a half, because I have no life. (^__^)
Anyway, I would recommend this drama for anyone who likes strong romance between characters, martial arts, or old Chinese dramas.
The only con that I have towards this drama is that they change the original plot quite a bit.
A lot of what happens, especially in the end of the show, is different from the actual story.
But if you don’t mind that, you will definitely LOVE this drama!!
BTW.
HU GE IS SO HOT.
kyaaaaaaaaaaa ♥
stay tuned, and lots of love,
