Hair Curler Instawave / Sweater Uniqlo / Perfume Chanel Eau Fraiche
Hi readers! I’ve received a lot of hair-tutorial requests lately and question as to how I curl my hair. There are two methods I use at home to curl my hair. I use traditional hair curlers (I have one 1-inch barrel curler from Revlon, and another one from a beauty store in Shanghai). I also discovered a second method; recently I’ve been using KISS Instawave technology to curl my hair. I’ll be sharing my process and tips on curling (accumulated over many frustrating hair experiences) in this post! On a side note, I am trying to expand my blog by adding more beauty and lifestyle posts. Please let me know if you have any suggestions or post requests! Let’s begin 🙂
KISS InstaWave is a fully automatic tangle-free curler that instantly creates beautiful curls- perfect for when I’m rushing to photo shoots or outings! I am not very good with hair, but the automatic technology makes it super easy for anyone to use, from any angle, with either hand. (I always end up curling with my right hand, even though I’m left-handed.) The Instawave curler has a Curl Dial that will either wrap your hair right or left, creating two directions. This is probably my favorite feature, and one of the main reasons I’ve switched to using this kind of technology. With a traditional curler, I always can’t figure out how to wrap my hair while simultaneously turning the hair curler in the right direction….resulting in clunky curls with kinks in them. (Not cute!) This curler has 2 heat settings with a low/high switch, goes to a maximum temperature of 420, and shuts off automatically after ninety minutes. The high temperature is really important, you can get your curls done much quicker this way!
Now on to the actual curling process! Here are some photos of the hair curling in process. In all honesty, curling my hair probably used to be one of my most frustrating and stressful beauty procedures, especially if I was running short on time. It wouldn’t be uncommon to hear frustrated screams and wails coming from my bathroom as I was trying to do my hair. I rarely get mad or scream at people….but annoying curl results are a different matter. As you can see in the photos, I always have a semi-annoyed, dazed, and semi-confused expression on my face while curling.
I’ve found that curling with this type of curler is a lot simpler than the traditional curling rod. You literally take a strand of hair, place it on the InstaWave curling rod and then push the Curl Dial. (Either left or right is fine, I think the best results come when you alternate right/left between each curl.) Then Instawave does the rest of the work for you, automatically catching and curling your hair. You only need to hold for 5-1 seconds, (depending on how tight you want the curls to be.) This is super important to me; I simply don’t have the patience to wait any longer, especially when I have so many sections of hair to get through. When you’re done, pull the InstaWave down vertically, let the hair fall into place, and enjoy the beautiful crisscrossed curl! (This hair curler is now available in a variety of major stores, like Target, Amazon and Walmart.)
Here are some photos of my hair in the process of curling, and some of the finished look. I have a pretty big face, so I think curls look good on me because they make my face looks slimmer and frame my smile! The hair protection products I use are a heat protectant from Tresemme, and the It’s A 10 Miracle Hair Product. Using a heat protectant is really important if you want to maintain healthy hair in the long term. If you want your curls to last longer, invest in a high-quality, light hairspray. Maintaining the curl is just as important as creating it! 🙂
Hope you found this post to be useful. I am trying to make more beauty related posts, as they have been highly requested by my blog and Youtube followers and categories I’ve always loved doing my own work in. Feel free to ask me any questions about hair-curling, or leave any questions or suggestions for my blog in the comment box below. Have a lovely day!
