This summer, right after my high school graduation, I took a two month tour around Asia. I visited Taiwan, Japan, Korea, and China. You can view some of those travel posts under the “travel” section of my blog. I am really excited to share these photos taken by Eric Vernon in Shanghai! Be sure to visit his instagram @ericvernon. I guess being in Asia for the past few months has changed my style a bit, I don’t know if you can notice the slight changes in my hairstyle, clothing choice and makeup. (And yes, I’m totally doing the “v” sign in two of these pictures…hahaha) I lived in an apartment on East China University of Science and Technology (华东理工学院) with my grandparents before moving to America, so I had been surrounded by the atmosphere of Chinese universities growing up. I love how we captured the quiet ambience of Chinese universities in these pictures. The wu tong (or parasol) trees in this picture are symbolic of Shanghai now. They line many streets and neighborhoods. These trees were a leftover of the French influence during the concession, lasting until the early forties. Since Shanghai is a really special city to my upbringing and identity, it was great to be able to capture this part of my life to share with my readers. <3
