The first thought that crossed my mind when stepping out of the airport security in SJD Los Cabos airport was how much the surroundings reminded me of China. My friend and I were instantly stormed by a bus drivers, shuttle drivers, and tourism company representatives that wanted our business. The air wrapped around my skin like a warm kiss. Time seemed alive.
Neta and I decided to take a shuttle to Wyndham resort, where we were staying. The drive there was breathtaking and we listened to the playlist that we had mixed for the trip. The moment was perfect, carefree… felt strongly by us two vagabonds driving into the beautiful Mexican landscape. The adventure was beginning; we didn’t view the days ahead of us in a solid count of four, but instead as an infinite potential of possibility!
Our room at the Wyndham resort was (to our convenience) right next to La Vista, the outdoor lounge where the pool, hot tubs, and lounge chairs were. It was also the restaurant where complimentary buffet breakfast was served every morning. Eating breakfast on the rooftop restaurant and lounge area was the best way to start off every morning. The view from the tables was the marina view, which was breathtaking. Nothing like the ocean and Mexican style scrambled eggs.
We were very impressed with our room at Wyndham, which was very clean, spacious, and accommodated to our two biggest needs: a big bed to crash on, and large mirrors to do our makeup and check our outfits. (Our room did a great job with both.) It also had a sofa, coffee table, balcony, and nice shower!
Our trip consisted of a lot of sampling of local taquerias, hilarious interactions with local vendors, and free spirited, open-minded wandering day and night. I don’t think I’ve been called so many different things during a ten minute walk down the street… mariposa, princess, international model, true love… all these phrases came back and me and Neta would glance at each other and laugh for days. Since the downtown area that we mostly roamed in was so condensed, people remembered us and would give us continuation pick up lines each time we walked by! It went from us being “love at first site” to “love at first site, for the second time” to this one vendor. We got many chuckles out of the whole situation. Time absolutely flew.
Thanks for viewing part one of my Cabo photo-journal! Part two is coming soon, and that will be followed by outfit posts taken by my boyfriend!! He is my new photographer, and we’ll see how that plays out…
Stay tuned and much love,
